A product has entered the red 'Needs Attention' status when it has been suspended or is incomplete
If one of your products is in the red status 'Needs Attention', then you will need to action or update the product before it can be finalized and sent to retailers. This article describes the different options you have to get the products out of this status.

The product was edited, but not saved
A product can be in the red status of 'Needs Attention' if someone begins to edit a UPC and then leaves the page before saving or canceling. Any person in your organization could have done this. The good news is you, and anyone else, can easily fix this.
Note: You will receive a corresponding alert in the Message Center when this occurs which outlines the issue or question and provides some guidance on how to fix it. You can find the Message Center by clicking on the envelope icon on the left sidebar.
Step 1: Navigate to the My Products page
- Log in to WERCSmart.
- Click on your house icon on the top of the left sidebar.
- Locate the red product line.
Step 2: Action or update product
- Under the 'Actions' column, click on the three dots.
- Click Process UPC Update to review, edit, and update before saving.
- Click Remove UPC Update to remove the red status.
The product registration is suspended
A product can be in the red status of 'Needs Attention' if the product has been suspended. There are many reasons that a product can be suspended. A common reason for this is that the product registration has been submitted for Assessment, but the Assessment Team needs further clarification.

Step 1: Navigate to My Products page
- Log in to WERCSmart.
- Click on your house icon on the top of the left sidebar.
- Locate the red product line.
Step 2: Edit/update the product
- Under the 'Actions' column, click on the three dots.
- Click Update Required.
- Update the product as needed
- Note: Full details about the specific issue on the product and how to fix it can be found in the alert in your Message Center.
Step 3: Resubmit to the Assessment team
- Once you have updated the necessary information, make sure to submit the registration again

The product is no longer needed
If your product is in the red status of 'Needs Attention' but you no longer need to submit the registration, you can follow the directions for How do I Discontinue or Obsolete a product?
