What is WERCSmart?
The WERCSmart® program is the industry standard solution used by leading retailers to manage product compliance across the thousands of products they sell – to meet state, provincial, and federal regulatory requirements for safe handling, storage, transportation, and disposal of regulated products.
With one WERCSmart registration, suppliers can fulfill onboarding requirements for more than 125 retailers. WERCSmart is a permission-based data management platform where suppliers can share necessary product information with participating retailers without disclosing proprietary data.
How it works:
During product registration in WERCSmart®, suppliers provide product details, including recommended use, chemical composition, transportation information, and safety documents, like Safety Data Sheets (SDSs), labels, certifications, and testing results. This data is then screened against over 5,000 regulatory lists to generate a complete picture of regulatory status at the state, provincial, and federal levels. The supplier will then select which WERCSmart retailers should receive this data on an individual product basis. This data can also be screened against retailer-specific chemical policies and clean product programs based on supplier participation.
