Bug Fixes

The following are all reported issues with current functionality that is fixed with this Release.

FIFRA Exemption for Pesticides

An issue was found during the update of a Pesticide registration. If the registration had indicated EPA registration but during data update FIFRA exemption was claimed, the EPA registration data was not clearing as expected, leading to increased Suspension activity in error.

Pesticide Import of Kelly Solutions State Expiration Data

During updates to existing pesticide registrations, the connection with Kelly Solutions, which imports State-specific expiration data, was fully importing all data into the registration.

New, or Improved, Functionality in WERCSmart:

Pesticide Expiration Notifications via Email

Email notifications will be sent to the person assigned to the product registration data beginning 90 days prior to a state registration expiration. If the data is not updated and resubmitted, another notification will be sent at 60-days and again at 30-days to ensure timely updates to the registration data for state pesticide compliance.

Pesticide Registrations – State Pesticide Data Update

In 2023, the State Pesticide data collection was revised and included an option to indicate that no state registration was required. This is being removed as an option and, instead, the data selection should be Restricted, Not Registered. We apologize for any confusion this has caused.

Smoke Detectors

Some new product types, aligning with various regulations, will be introduced shortly after the Release occurs. Should you have any registrations in your account that are “Smoke Detectors”, you will need to update the data and resubmit, to ensure proper Hazard Review classification. Watch for notification for any specific products in the days following the Release. The new product types are:

  • Ionization Smoke Detector; or
  • Photoelectric Smoke Detector (non-Ionizing) with non-removable Battery
  • Photoelectric Smoke Detector (non-Ionizing) with removable Battery

Ionization smoke detectors have additional transportation data required during the data registration, due to the product’s chemistry. For non-ionizing smoke detectors, the product’s housing of the battery impacts waste classification during the Hazard Review process.
