Registering a Kit in WERCSmart.
If you have a product that contains two or more separate products that are packaged and sold as a Kit under a single UPC, you will need to register this product as a Kit registration.
Please use the steps below to create your Kit registration:
You must begin the process by registering the products contained within the Kit separately.
The products within the Kit need to be registered as separate products within WERCSmart.
You only need to register the components of the Kit that are required by your retailer to be registered. For example, if you sell a mouthcare kit that contains toothpaste, mouthwash, and a toothbrush, you would not need to register the toothbrush as this is likely not is not a product that would need registration in WERCSmart.
While registering the Kit components, do not add any UPC's or retailers to the registration unless the Kit component is sold on it's own and has it's own UPC.
Open your kit components have been successfully registered and reviewed, you can begin to register the Kit as a whole.
The kit components must pass the review process and show on your home page in a green colored box surrounding the "NR" initials to be available for adding to your Kit.
Begin a new registration in WERCSmart by selecting the beaker icon and selecting "Create New Registration".
You will now need to begin your registration by selecting a Kit product type from the options that appear when you type "Kit" in the product type box.
You will see a dropdown list of the available Kit product types when you type "Kit" and you can select whichever option is most accurate to your product(s).
As you continue answering the questions within the product registration, you will be brought to a section titled "Create the Kit".
In this section, you will need to search for the components of the Kit that you have already registered. You may search by either the product name or the WERCSmart ID of the component.
Once you have added all of your Kit components, you can proceed further in the registration.
Since this Kit registration combines the components of the overall Kit, you will need to add the retailer(s) and UPC(s) that are attached to the Kit.
You may now proceed to the end of the registration and submit the Kit registration for review.
When filling out the Transportation information, if any components of the Kit are regulated for transport, the Kit as a whole will need to be regulated as well.
Since the Safety Data Sheets were provided on the individual registrations, you will not need to upload the SDS of the in the overall Kit registration. If you need to update a Safety Data Sheet, you will have to perform the update on the individual product registration and resubmit the registrations (Kit and Individual product).
