The following updates to WERCSmart are available as of the beginning of business May 18, 2021:
Kit Registrations – Private Label Cleaning Product Kits for Target
Target Private Label Registrations that are within scope for the California Cleaning Right-to-Know regulations (SB 258) must provide more information about the product and ingredients for compliance with the regulation.
This requirement is now being expanded to include Kits that are:
1. Directed to Target as one of the Retailers; and
2. The Kit is shown to be a Private Label registration; and
3. The products within the Kit registration (Child Products) are
a product type within scope for the California regulation.
When creating a Kit registration in WERCSmart, should the three (3) conditions above be met, you will be notified of the requirement to revise the Child Product(s) in the kit to ensure participation in the California SB 258 regulation.
You will need to update the affected Child Product(s) registrations that may, or may not, individually be directed to Target. Within the Child Product(s) registration, you will need to indicate participation in the additional data surrounding the California Cleaning Right-to-Know program.

Once the Child Product(s) is updated to include the additional data required under the regulation, you will send the registration to UL. You may then resume creation of the Kit Registration and send to UL.
Existing Kit registrations that are Private Label to Target and have one or more Child Product(s) within scope for the Cleaning Product regulation, will encounter Recertification upon UPC edits or Forwarding.
DATA TIER CONSENT FOR RESTRICTED CHEMICAL PROGRAMS
With this release to WERCSmart we welcome two new Retailers to the PurView program. WERCSmart users will need to review the Retail Partner area to revised and save the Data Tier Consent for each of the latest programs.
As is standard practice, upon the 4th sign in to WERCSmart if the retailer programs have not been saved in the Retail Partner area, you will be required to finalize the consent before you are able to work on registrations.
