California SB-258, the “Cleaning Products Right to Know Act of 2017”, requires cleaning product manufacturers to disclose the ingredients of their products to consumers.

Assistance is now available as part of your WERCSmart registration

Manufacturers of cleaning products that are sold or distributed in California now have the option to provide the additional CA 258-specific information as part of your WERCSmart product registration.

Why use WERCSmart to help disclose ingredient information to your consumers

WERCSmart can help eliminate the guesswork necessary for CA 258 compliance. It has integrated a CA 258 question stream workflow designed to fulfill CA 258 requirements. After completing the question stream workflow, manufacturers are provided with a JSON (JavaScript Object Notation) file to be used for posting on your website or other digital assets.

How to request assistance

If you have a cleaning product, answer “YES” to the question of whether you would like to provide additional information for the California Cleaning Right to Know Act located in the Product Type section as part of your WERCSmart product registration (see screenshot below for reference).

Cost

The cost of participating in the CA 258 workflow and receive JSON file delivery is $495 USD per product.

Note to Target Private Label Manufacturers:

Participation in the WERCSmart CA 258 workflow and JSON file delivery is a requirement for Target Private Label Cleaning Product Manufacturers.

The WERCSmart program provides a secure, permission-based platform that facilitates the safe exchange of product information between manufacturers and retailers with the highest standards of confidentiality and service.
