Recently Released Functionality in WERCSmart®:

Products Requiring Recertification (Recertification in Advance) Functionality Update: March 11, 2025

The recent Recertification in Advance release, quickly identified many products needing data revisions and changed the recertification status, making it difficult for everyone to manage, especially users with larger portfolios. Based on user feedback, an update to the original functionality was implemented earlier today, Tuesday, March 11, 2025. This update will do two things for users.

  1. Remove the recertification and return all products to the original status
  2. Apply a more conservative approach to identifying a smaller group of products in batches.

Over the next few months, we’ll continue to work to ensure that recertification is not automatically applied once a product is identified as needing your attention, treating these much differently than the perceived suspension of these registrations that was originally implemented. Our goal is to simply inform you of these products that need recertification, as well as give you control over when you want to act on the product update.

For each item in the recertification view, you can:

  1. Update the product data and resubmit, which will remove the product from the recertification table
  2. View UPC data associated with the registration
  3. See information regarding what needs to be updated in the registration to meet current requirements

Maintaining accurate product registrations provide retailers an accurate and complete data set for compliance. If your product registrations are not up to date, it increases product suspensions and it can make kit creation difficult. All product updates are included in your subscription.
