Updating your subscription level in WERCSmart

Scenario 1: Your WERCSmart subscription needs to be upgraded to accommodate additional product registrations:


Please use the steps below to upgrade your subscription tiers to a higher level:

  • Select your name in the top right corner of the WERCSmart home page and select the "My Account" option.

  • You will now be brought to a page titled "Subscription Upgrade". 

  • On this page, please select the corresponding dropdown options for each category of subscription to match your desired number of products. 

  • Once you have filled in each desired subscription tier to match your company's needs, please select "Proceed" in the lower right corner of the page. 

  • A "Subscription Upgrade" dialog box will summarize your selected subscription options and yearly renewal cost with the updates applied. 

    • Please keep in mind that the total cost shown in the Subscription Upgrade dialog box is referencing your full yearly subscription fee and does not apply any of the credit you will receive from payments that you have already made throughout the year. 

  • After confirming that you have selected the appropriate options shown in the Subscription Upgrade dialog box, please select the green "Checkout" button. 

  • The system will now bring you to a page titled "Purchase Summary"

    • This page will show your selected subscription plan and the total amount that will be charged for the upgrade at this time, referred to as the "Total". 

    • This "Total" amount will have all credits applied and reflects the price that you will be charged to your "Default" payment method once you select "Confirm Order".

  • After reviewing your subscription information and the total you will be charged, select the green "Confirm Order" button in the lower right corner. 

  • Next, you will be brought to the "Payment Methods" screen where you will verify the method of payment added to the account and marked as "Default". 

  • After confirming that your desired payment method marked as "Default", please select the green "Continue" button at the bottom right corner. 

  • You will now see a page confirming that your subscription has been successfully upgraded and you can select the green "Home" option to return to your home page. 

    • The system will automatically generate a new invoice showing the details of your upgrade which can be viewed within your account. 


Scenario 2: Your WERCSmart subscription needs to be downgraded to accurately reflect your current number of products, or your desired level of support. 


WERCSmart subscriptions run annually, and therefore all downgrades must occur during the renewal period. The renewal period is 30 days prior to the annual renewal date meaning that downgrades cannot take place before 30 days before the renewal date. Please proceed to the "Subscription Information" page of your WERCSmart account to review your annual renewal date. 


If you have deleted several products and now need to adjust your subscription to match the number of products you have registered, please take the following steps: 

  • Select your name in the top right corner of the WERCSmart home page and select the "My Account" option.

    • Although the button is labeled "Upgrade", please select the green "Upgrade" button in order to Downgrade the Subscription. 

  • You will now be brought to the "Subscription Upgrade" page, although you are downgrading. 

  • On this page, please select the corresponding dropdown options for each category of subscription to match your desired number of products. 

    • The lowest option available for each category reflects the lowest tier that your account is eligible to downgrade to. 

    • If you do not see your desired subscription tier shown, you will need to delete more products to be eligible to downgrade to the next tier

  • Once you have filled in each desired subscription tier to match your company's downgrading needs, please select "Proceed" in the lower right corner of the page.

  • A "Subscription Upgrade" dialog box will summarize your selected subscription options and provide your yearly renewal cost with the updates applied. 

  • After confirming that you have selected the appropriate options shown in the Subscription Upgrade dialog box when downgrading, please select the green "Checkout" button.
  • The system will now bring you to a page titled "Purchase Summary". 

    • This page will show your selected subscription plan and the total prorated amount that will be credited for the downgrade, referred to as the "Total".

    • This credit will be placed on your account to be applied to future invoices. 

  • After reviewing your subscription information and the total you will be credited, please select the green "Confirm Order" option in the lower right corner. 

  • Next, you will be brought to the "Payment Methods" screen where you will verify the method of payment added to the account and marked as "Default".
  • After confirming that you have the desired payment method marked as "Default", please select the green "Continue" button at the bottom right corner. 

  • You will now see a page confirming that your subscription has been successfully downgraded however it will say upgraded and you can select the green "Home" option to return to your home page. 

    • The system will automatically generate a new invoice showing the details of your downgrade which can be viewed within your account. 

Special note:

  • Your WERCSmart account will only be eligible to be downgraded after you have deleted enough products to fit a lower subscription tier.

  • Downgrades must take place within the 30 days leading up to the annual subscription renewal date. Please proceed to the "Subscription Information" page of your WERCSmart account to review your annual renewal date. If you have any questions about your annual renewal date, please contact Customer Support for assistance. 

  • If you would prefer to receive a refund to a specific payment method following a subscription downgrade, please contact Customer Support for assistance.

    • You may contact Customer Support via ticket, phone call or chats to request a refund following a subscription downgrade.

    • Please be sure to include your downgrade invoice as an attachment and provide information for the payment method that you would like the refund applied to.  


Scenario 3: You would like to cancel your WERCSmart subscription.


WERCSmart subscriptions run annually, and therefore all cancellations must occur during the renewal period. The renewal period is 30 days prior to the annual renewal date meaning that cancellation cannot be requested until 30 days before the renewal date. Please proceed to the "Subscription Information" page of your WERCSmart account to review your annual renewal date.


In order to cancel your subscription, please follow the steps below:

  • To make your account eligible for cancellation, you will need to delete all of your current product registrations from the account by making your products Obsolete. 

    • To make a product Obsolete, the product must have at least 12 months of no activity and can no longer be sold to your retailers. 

    • In order to make your products obsolete, please select the grey "Bulk Actions" button on the right side of your home page. 

    • The system will show a pop-up that has four options, please select the "Delete Products" option on this pop-up. 

    • You will now be brought to a separate page titled "Delete Active Products". 

    • On this page, please select the check boxes for each product that you would like to delete. 

    • Only products that are eligible to be made obsolete will show on this page. 

    • After selecting the check boxes for each product you are attempting to delete, please select the "Make Obsolete" box listed at the bottom left side of the page. 

    • You will now see a pop-up asking you to verify that you would like to delete the product(s) in it's/their entirety, please check the box indicating that you agree and then click "Accept". 

    • Your product(s) will now be made obsolete from your account and the system.

  • Once all of the products have been made obsolete on your account, please contact the Customer Support team via phone call, live chat or by submitting a ticket to request cancellation.  

  • In your request be sure to state that you have deleted all of your products and you would now like to cancel your subscription and the Customer Support agent will assist in processing your request for cancellation.


Special Note:

  • If you are unable to delete all of your products because certain products are not eligible to make obsolete, you will need to wait until all of your products are eligible to be deleted prior to requesting cancellation. 

  • Subscription cancellations must take place within the 30 days leading up to the annual subscription renewal date. Please proceed to the "Subscription Information" page of your WERCSmart account to review your annual renewal date. If you have any questions about your annual renewal date, please contact Customer Support for assistance.
