Fixes for the Following are Included:

Revised Logo!

Sears/K-Mart logo has been revised to the organization’s current logo.

Product Update – Region and SDS Authoring

An issue was reported where a registration updated data, and removed Canada from the registration. This removal of Canada did not, unfortunately, remove a prior SDS authoring request for Canada. Fix is complete for all similar updates going forward. An issue was reported where a registration update removed the region of Canada from the registration data. Unfortunately, this removal did not cancel a prior SDS authoring request specifically for Canada (SDS WHMIS format). The fix to ensure removal of prior SDS authoring requests that are no longer applicable, to an update to the Region where the product is sold, is now complete for all similar updates to registrations.

New, or Improved, Functionality in WERCSmart®:

Subscription Pre-Renewal Period and Upgrades

The actions that are taken during the pre-renewal period of about 30 days by customers, wasn’t providing the best user experience, once the subscription renews or is canceled. We’ve done some updates behind the scenes to make this better going forward.

When a subscription has a renewal pending and an upgrade occurs to the account within the 30-day pre-renewal window, the user experience has been improved where you may continue to:

  • Add or remove registrations during this pre-renewal period; and
  • Adjust your renewal’s tier levels as appropriate.

The renewal, once it goes into effect, will properly reflect any adjustments you made during the pre-renewal period.

Transportation Exemptions for Inflatable Equipment

This update to WERCSmart only affects the following product types:

  • Inflatable Equipment using Non-Flammable Compressed Gas

Based on regulatory requirements specific to Transportation, you may indicate the product, if applicable, has the exemption of 49 CFR 173.219(c)(5), or IMDG SP 296 or IATA SP 223. As a refresher, this outlines the following exemption:

Life-saving appliances containing no hazardous materials other than cylinders of Division 2.2 compressed or liquefied bases with no subsidiary risk, with a capacity not exceeding 120 mL, installed solely for the purpose of activating the appliance, are not subject to the provisions of this subchapter provided they are overpacked in rigid outer packaging with maximum gross mass of 40 kg. For transportation by aircraft, such appliances must be transported as cargo and [for DOT] may be carried onboard an aircraft by passengers or crewmembers in carry-on baggage, or on their person unless specifically excepted by §175.10.

Case Pack Guidance

When providing GTIN/UPC data for your registration, we’ve provided some further clarification regarding Case Packs, which didn’t exist before.

Case Pack UPCs or GTINs cannot be an individual product but is a multiple of the same product that could be sold by the case.
