PFAS Data Collection
PFAS = per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances
The following Retail Partners/Data Recipients will be accepting Articles (non-formulated stand-alone product registrations):
- Advance Auto Parts
- C&S Wholesale
- Harbor Freight Tools
- Macy’s Inc.
- Office Depot
- Ulta Beauty
- Walgreens
DoC Requirements
All DoCs submitted by your suppliers must meet the following requirements:
- Documents will need to be produced or printed on company letterhead.
- A published date of less than one year must be visible.
- The document should be signed by an authorized representative of the respective supplier.
- The UPCs on the registration or declaration must match the product UPCs or be a blanket declaration confirming that all items do not contain PFAS.
Note: The UL Solutions hazard review team will review declarations to help you ensure that the listed criteria are met.
Registration Question(s)
Product manufacturers and distributors will be required to select from a series of initial questions specific to PFAS when registering data for products that do not contain formulation data.
Does this product contain intentionally added per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS)?
Options for selection and the impact of each will be:
- Yes
- Collects further specific data or documentation.
- Documentation would be a Declaration of Substances or
- If applicable, provide a list of known PFAS substances and the technical function(s) of the substance.
- No
- Requires an upload of a Declaration of Compliance.
- Blanket or Product-specific document.
- On company letterhead with corporate address included.
- Includes product information and GTIN/UPC.
- Must be dated within the past year from the date of WERCSmart registration being made.
- Signed by a Company Authorized Representative.
- Blanket or Product-specific document.
- Requires an upload of a Declaration of Compliance.
- I’m not sure
- It provides several options for consideration when utilizing testing services.
- Contact the supplier for clarification or information
- Directs the Data Recipient, or Retailer, receiving the PFAS information, that the Retailer must work directly with the product manufacturer or distributor on determination of the presence of known PFAS in the product.

Add any Optional Comments or leave the box blank and Save.
Click Agree and Accept to Submit for Assessment.
