The following updates to WERCSmart are available as of the beginning of business September 30, 2021: 


Suspended Registrations


For various reasons, suspensions occur on submitted registration data. With everyone’s hectic workday, the intention to address a recent suspension sometimes may be lost in the shuffle. We’re adding a feature in WERCSmart that will periodically send email reminders to you so that you don’t lose sight of the data updates.


For registration suspensions that remain unresolved beyond 120 consecutive days, the registration will be cancelled.


Email notifications will be sent to you at 60, 90, and 120 Days, based on the suspension date for the registration. Upon 60 days, you will have a new option available in My Products that will provide you an opportunity to “reset the clock” on the suspension if you’re waiting for others to provide you specific information. As a reminder, this option will only display once the registration has been in suspension for 60+ days but less than 121 days.





There is confirmation, when you’ve chosen to reset the suspension date, of the action.



In the More Filters area, we’ve expanded the filter options to include filters for suspensions.



My Reports also has a new report added specific to suspensions.




3rd-Party formulation PurView preview revised


For 3rd-Party formula registrations, the PurView Preview for sustainability impact is revised to include additional Retailers who have chemical-policy programs.





Data tier consent: Meijer

Recently, Meijer joined the PurView chemical policy program. The “More Information” link for Meijer in the My Retail Partner area of WERCSmart, has been updated.


My account: password reset 

When selecting password reset in the My Account area, additional information has been added for this action. 

When changing your password, upon save, you will automatically be signed out of WERCSmart and you will need to use your new password to sign in. If you would rather change your password later, please select “cancel”.


Office Depot: registrations for articles

Office Depot will now accept registration assessments for all product types, including Articles. Article registrations have no battery included, no chemicals (ingredients), no electronic parts (circuit boards, power cords).


Bug fixes


Several customer-reported issues were addressed in this release.

•    Battery-containing products

  • Report revised for accuracy

  • Selection of valid battery registrations only has been enhanced

•    Battery registrations

  • Allow a global acceptance of Data Tier Consent, minimizing the need to select an option for each battery registration

•    California Cleaning (SB 258)

  • Revisions to the ingredient availability to include items such as paper

•    Email notifications

  •  New Account message has been revised to indicate the link provided is only active for a specified time.

  • Retail Completion Notices have been updated for specific deactivated users.

  • Manufacturer and Distributor email notifications have been revised with a hyperlink to the WERCSmart site.

What's planned for 2022


State pesticide data

State pesticide registration data will be streamlined to improve usability of this area. The revision will include:

•    Selection of State Status

  • Registered

    • The product is registered in the specific state

    • State expiration date entry is required 

  • Restricted / Not Registered

    • The State does not allow the sale of the product (restricted); or

    • The product is chosen by the account not to be registered in the specific state

    • No expiration date entry will be needed as there is a default of Not Applicable

  • No state registration required

    • The state does not require registration of this product type per their own State regulations

    • No expiration date will be needed as the default will be not applicable

  • Pending state registration

    • The state registration has been submitted but the finalization is not yet determined by the state regulatory agency

    •  No expiration date will be needed until such time the selection is changed to “Registered”.

 

•    State registration numbers will no longer be collected for each individual state.


Bulk updating of State Registration dates will be available when the registration is set to expire within 90 days or less, using a “revise all dates” option within the individual product registration.


Home page revisions

We will be revising the Home Page to include contact information for our Agency customers, contact for General Support, as well as “at a glance” subscription statuses. Removal of the Product Information graphic is being removed as this was not an actionable area.


In addition, the filter specific to canceled registrations has been moved to the “More Filters” area.


Auto-recertification preview

WERCSmart account holders will be able to view any possible auto-recertification implications on their existing registrations before it is critical to forward the registration to a new retailer or edit the UPCs on the registration.
