The following updates to WERCSmart are available as of the end of business February 3, 2020:

Amazon Data Tiers

The data tier consent is revised to be specific to certain UPC prefixes only. Be sure, upon login to WERCSmart, to revise your data tier consent for this retailer, should you have registrations existing within your account that meet the retailer’s current criteria.

This is a fix to an issue where the PurView data was only being provided within the newly stated criteria. The stated criteria displayed in WERCSmart was too broad and has been updated to accurately reflect the existing criteria for the Amazon program.

Account Identifiers

Product, Formula/Ingredient Identifiers, like the existing Brand Name identifier, has been added to WERCSmart to assist registrants with managing their product data. Identifiers used by registrants within their own organizations are different from the WERCSmart ID. 

This will allow registrants, as an option, to include their own internal identifiers for a Product registration, including Ingredients. Also, per UPC (Universal Product Code), as an option, the product can include the organization’s SKU.

Adding these identifiers will assist WERCSmart Customers with managing their products, locating the data within WERCSmart, and doing bulk updates.

Also, based on customer feedback we have received, if the Identifiers are revised within WERCSmart and no other data is revised, the submission will not undergo an assessment when resubmitted. Revisions to these Identifiers will be available in the Bulk Actions area on the Home Page (above the Product Table, to the right).

The Summary View will include the Identifiers within the registration if these fields are populated.

Please be aware that the Identifiers (Brand, Product, Ingredient, SKU) are not utilized in any manner during the assessment process, nor are they provided to the Retailer as part of the Assessment Data. These are specifically for the use of the WERCSmart Account to assist in the overall management of their data contained in WERCSmart.

The following items have been fixed with this implementation:

California Cleaning Right-to-Know

The JSON file created was unable to recognize any special characters within the registration’s product name. CA Cleaning – Special Characters Permitted in Product Name – Fixes JSON file

Larvicide, Non-Aerosol Product Type

A 3rd Party Warning error would display in error.

GoodGuide

There were warning and informational messages provided during a registration that referenced a prior UL product named GoodGuide. These references have been removed.

Password Revisions

When saving a password update, a warning was being provided too soon with regard to the validity of the password. This led to confusion as to whether the password update had occurred, leading to circular action by the registrant. 

Master and Division Subscription

In many instances, a shared subscription is utilized by a Master account, with Subsidiaries or Divisions established for the purposes of sharing a WERCSmart subscription. With the recent subscription updates, Division accounts were not being properly linked to the Master account and were improperly prompted for a subscription.

What's Coming

Document Reader

WERCSmart customers will have the option to provide a GHS Safety Data Sheet (SDS) early in the product registration process so the data may be obtained from the SDS uploaded document and prepopulate the areas of the product registration for you. This would include data found within Sections 2, 3, and 9 of the SDS.

Home Page Revisions to the WERCSmart Portal

Upcoming home page revisions to the WERCSmart portal include contact information for our Agency customers, contact for General Support, as well as “At a glance” subscription statuses. The Product Information graphic is being removed as this was not an actionable area. In addition, the filter specific to "Canceled Registrations" has been moved to the “More Filters” area.
